INTERACTION OF PRIVATE DETECTIVES AND STATE LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES OF UKRAINE

Abstract

The article is devoted to certain aspects of the regulatory and legal provision of cooperation between entities of private detective activity and law enforcement agencies of Ukraine. The current state of legislation regarding the implementation of private detective activities, the regulated rights and obligations of private detectives in the process of their investigation activities are reviewed. The lack of legal basis for the activity of private detective organizations as entities of combating criminal and illegal activities in the state was determined.

This leads to a number of legal and practical problems in this field and makes it difficult for the state to control. The desire to regulate private detective activity in Ukraine remains relevant, and in the future it is possible to adopt special legislation that will regulate this sphere thoroughly. In modern conditions, when European values are taking root in Ukrainian society, and when our country is working on bringing its legal system closer to European standards, the harmonization of security measures in Ukraine with European standards is becoming extremely relevant. The presence of many unresolved issues regarding the role of law enforcement agencies, including private detectives, and the inconsistency of regulatory and legal acts create numerous problems that can only be resolved by identifying ways to improve the relevant legislation. The areas of improvement of the regulatory and legal regulation of the activity of private detective organizations as a whole and certain aspects of their cooperation with state law enforcement agencies are outlined.
