Personality’s responsibility in the foreign psychological discourse

Abstract

The article substantiates responsibility in the context of psycho-dynamic, humanistic and cognitive directions in psychology. The fi rst one defends responsibility as a piece of human conscience, which is determined by social fear. In further is highlighted a thought that with the development of psychoanalysis, in the context of neofreudizm, responsibility is seen not as a social fear, but as a perspective of the individual’s life activity and as a condition for his personal growth. At the same time, the humanistic approach gives priority to the issue of responsibility in the aspect of human freedom and its self-actualization and self-realization, and also it is proved that responsibility is an important personality trait through which he carries out timely life choices and his fully functional growth takes place, targeted
personal activity appears, etc. The article further substantiates that in the format of the cognitive direction, a mentioned problem is studied as a vector of internal actions and human behavior, a factor of his intellectual, volitional and moral development. Within the third one, it is studied that responsibility is nothing more than a specifi c self-regulator of the personality predicted activity, which makes it possible to express the desire for self-cognition, effective self-attitude, readiness for professional self-control and self-regulation. Given article describes responsibility as a personality trait of the mature person character, which organically models two types of locus control – internal and external. In the fi rst case, the person believes that important events of his own life is the result of his actions, and therefore he consciously and purposefully takes responsibility for how his life proceeds. In the second one – transfers responsibility for others, circumstances, as well as his failures and suffering associated with loved ones. In this context, it is known that the most common is the mixed type of personality, which embodies the ratio of the above-mentioned types of localization. It follows, therefore, that human responsibility affects all spheres of his life – personal, economic, professional, political, spiritual, and therefore – it presents a complex psychosocial phenomenon.
